Wembley Stadium

The stunning, new Wembley Stadium, rebuilt on the site of its famous predecessor with its legendary 'Twin Towers', is situated approximately 20 kilometres (12.5 miles) north-west of the City. With seating capacity for 90,000 spectators, this is the second largest stadium in Europe.

Based on a bowl design, it is protected from the British weather by a sliding roof and features a circular lattice arch with a 315 metre (1,033 feet) span, which is the world's longest unsupported roof structure and replaces the 'Twin Towers' on London's skyline. Fans of the great English football captain, Sir Bobby Moore, will see his magnificent, twice life-size bronze statue, as they approach along Olympic Way.

Owned by the Football Association and home venue for the English national football team, Wembley also plays host to other major events, such as Rugby League football and pop concerts, and will be the setting for the final of the men's and women's football tournaments during the 2012 Summer Olympics.

The Wembley Stadium tour is a must for all football (and stadia!) fans and gives behind-the-scenes access to the England Dressing Room, the Press Conference Room, the Players' Tunnel, the Managers' Dug-out and the Royal Box. These tours last approximately 90 minutes, are fully-guided and must be booked in advance.
