Cricket
The game of cricket has been played since the 13th century and is one of the oldest sports still to be played today. If you are a fan of the game or simply want to experience this age-old institution for yourself, the historic ground of Lord's, just west of Regent's Park is the place to go. Established in 1814, Lord's is the ancestral home of cricket and one of the venues at which the England team play. There are several matches played over the summer, with the ground open for tours in the winter.
The 2012 London Olympics will see Lord's host the archery competition.
