Beating the Retreat

The Beating the Retreat is one of the oldest military ceremonies dating back to the time of chivalry when a "call" of drums was used to signal an end to the days fighting, the return to camp and mounting of the guard for the night.

Now the event is a fantastic display of military music, marching, horse and guns provided by the Massed Bands of the Household Division.
