FAQs
If you have a general question about our products or services then you should find the information below. However if you have a device specific query click the links below.
Q. Is it really free?
A. Yes, we won't charge you anything for downloading our software or
using the iPhone and Mobile products.
Q. Sounds too good to be true? What's the catch?
A. There is no catch! The software is what it takes to deliver you
the London Travel Guide. There's no catch, we're not tracking your visit to London.
Q. So how do you make your money?
A. We make our money in much the same way as Google and other
website which are free to access and use which is by advertising and affiliate
programs.
Q. Can I link to your site from my own?
A. Yes, we are grateful for any links that go to our website.
For more information see
Linking to us.
Q. Can I put your software on my website for others to download?
A. Whilst our software is free, it is still protected by copyright
and unless invited you may not upload our software to any server for others to download.
This is not only a breach of our own copyrights but also those of our content partners
who will inevitably look to pursue any violation of their copyrights themselves. If you
wish to distribute our software in anyway please contact us first.
Q. Will my network provider charge me for using the iPhone or Mobile
versions of the software?
A. Both the iPhone and Mobile version of the software are web-based
applications which require connection to the internet. Some network providers may
charge you for accessing the internet from your mobile device and so we recommend
you consult your contract if you are unsure.
Q. I have a PDA, which version is right for me?
A. Generally with PDAs larger screen resolutions and often wifi internet
any version is suitable (except for the iPod version). It is really a case of trying them
all and seeing which version is best for you.
- The desktop/normal website version is the largest and therefore the most complex to use for a small device but is the nicest looking with more graphics, colour and so forth. It is potentially the easiest to use with more navigation but it all depends on how your phone shows it on the screen.
- The mobile version is smallest and therefore quickest at loading. It is likely to be the best at fitting onto your screen but is very basic in design. The mobile version has all the same features as the other versions however whilst being quicker to load than the other versions.
- The iPhone version is designed to work best on the iPhone and iPod touch so therefore we would not recommend using it on your PDA. It could however work out better than the mobile version for you so give it a go and see what you think.
Q. Is a specific PDA version of the site or downloadable version planned?
A. We are currently looking into the feasibility of both a online PDA
customised version of the site and a downloadable Windows Mobile version. If we consider
enough demand such versions and it is feasible we will release a version in the near future.
If you have any thoughts about it then we would appreciate your view so please
