Green Park

Lying between St James's Park and Buckingham Palace to the south and Hyde Park to the north west, Green Park occupies 47 acres of central London and provides a peaceful refuge, which is popular for picnics and sunbathing in fine weather.

Historically the Park has not always been so welcoming - originally it was swampy ground used as a burial ground for lepers. Rest assured though, this was over 300 years ago and today the park is now quite safe!

Together, Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park and St James's Park form an almost continuous stretch of parkland covering over 700 acres of land, just slightly smaller than New York's Central Park.

Refreshments are available from the Ritz Corner to the north and Canada Gate in the south.
