O2 Stadium
The O2 Stadium started off life as the controversial Millennium Dome, which was used to house a major exhibition to celebrate the new Millennium. Located on the Greenwich peninsula, it is the largest domed structure in the world with a circumference of one kilometre.
Officially re-opened in 2007 with a concert by Bon Jovi, it now contains a 20,000 capacity indoor arena, music club, an 11-screen digital cinema, restaurants, bars and space for exhibitions.
The arena is perhaps the best in the country in terms of design and in 2012 will host the gymnastics and basketball finals in the London Olympics.
