London's Chinatown covers the streets in and around Gerrard Street in the area of Soho just north of Leicester Square. Home to the largest Chinese community in Europe, the celebrations of 2007 attracted some 300,000 people to events all over London.
The Chinese year 4706 begins on February 7th 2008 and celebrates the year of the Rat.
From 7th to 10th February the streets of Chinatown will come alive with dragons, musicians, performers, street stalls and night markets, climaxing with a Parade on Sunday 10th February with cultural performances in Trafalgar Square.
