Oxford Street
With over 200 million visitors a year, 600 stores and a combined turnover of £5 billion, Oxford Street is officially the busiest shopping street in Europe.
Running from Marble Arch in the west to Tottenham Court Road in the east, the one and a half miles of Oxford Street is home to a huge array of flagship stores, such as the enormous and trendy Selfridges (400 Oxford Street) and the 50,000-square-feet HMV (150 Oxford Street), which is the largest music and home entertainment store in the country. If large-scale, high street shopping is what you are after, then Oxford Street should be No. 1 on your agenda. As with Regent Street and Bond Street, every year Oxford Street is brightly decorated with Christmas lights from early November to 6th January.
